At 35 weeks your baby is about the size of a honeydew melon, around 46.3 cm long and 2.53 kg. Building up cosy baby fat.

- The whooping cough vaccine is recommended up to 36 weeks. If you haven't had it, contact your GP this week, as there is still some benefit after 36 weeks.
Your baby is laying down fat, which will help them stay warm after birth. The lungs are getting close to being ready for their first breath.
How big is my baby at 35 weeks?
At 35 weeks your baby is about the size of a honeydew melon, around 46.3 cm long and 2.53 kg. Before about 14 weeks babies are measured from crown to rump; after that the figure is head to heel. These are typical figures from fetal growth charts. Your own baby may be bigger or smaller, and your scans are what count.
What is my baby doing at 35 weeks?
- Your baby is laying down fat, which will help them stay warm after birth.
- The lungs are getting close to being ready for their first breath.
- Your baby should still be moving as much as before, even though space is tight.
What changes for me at 35 weeks pregnant?
- You may notice yellowish marks in your bra from colostrum, the early milk that's rich in antibodies.
- Feeling heavy, tired and uncomfortable is very common now.
- Pelvic and back aches may increase as your baby grows.
What is a good tip for this week?
Think about how you'd like to feed your baby and ask your midwife what breastfeeding support your maternity unit offers.

Read up on feeding together so you can support whatever you decide.
