APR is the real price

The APR, the annual percentage rate, includes interest and fees and shows the yearly cost of a loan. Always compare loans by APR, not by the weekly repayment.

Small weekly, big total

A low weekly payment over a long time can cost far more than a higher payment over a short time. Ask for the total amount you'll repay.

Moneylenders cost the most

Interest from licensed high cost credit providers is capped at 1% a week, up to 48% a year. Add their fees and the APR can still be over 150%.

Ask the credit union first

Credit unions lend to their members, often for smaller amounts. Compare their APR with the others and ask what they need from you.
